Match Centre

Yorkshire returned to the scene of their victory two days earlier but were unable to keep their unbeaten run going as they were comprehensively beaten by nine wickets with six overs to spare.

Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bat. However within four overs of commencing rain unexpectedly arrived at 12.30. Play recommenced without the loss of any overs.

Wickets fell at regular intervals and “extras” and Yash Vagadia were the only double figure scorers other than skipper, Jonny Tattersall who made 71 not out from 54 deliveries with seven fours and a six – Yorkshire posted 122-8.

Vagadia produced a fine piece of fielding to run out Welch (14-1) but that was the only success as Sam Evans made 34 not out from 27 balls and Harry Swindells 82 not out from only 47 balls with seven fours and five maximums.

Friday 27th May sees the next action with two T20 games at Queens Park, Chesterfield before the return game against Leicestershire on Monday 30th May at Uptonsteel ground.
