Report: Yorkshire 2nd XI vs Worcestershire 2nd XI - Day Four

— 17 September 2021

Scorecard

The final day of the 2nd XI season was greeted by warmth and blue sky, Worcestershire still trailing by 275 with 9 wickets in tact. Fell and Cornall had already added 91 for the second wicket and by the time the lunch interval arrived they were still together and taken their score to 205. Cornall reached his 50 from 101 balls with 5 fours and Fell his century from 149 balls with 11 fours.

During the innings the Sullivan brothers bowled 56 overs of spin and it was Harry who finally made the breakthrough bowling Cornall for 106 (his century came from 199 balls). Banton joined Fell and, at tea, they had added 59, Worcester being 304-2 still trailing by 66.

Fell had reached 150 shortly before tea and he had advanced to 161 before being taken at slip by Tom Kohler-Cadmore off Tom Loten. As before wickets fell in batches and three went in the space of 10 balls; another for Loten and one for Ben Cliff that gave Kohler-Cadmore his sixth catch of the match.

Worcestershire had reached 370-5 when the match ended in a draw.

Many thanks to anyone/everyone who has taken the time to read these reports. Winter well.
